Our commitment

Thriving Minds Collective Ltd, trading as The Islington Psychologist, wants this website to work for as many people as possible, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. We have built the site with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as our target standard.

How we have approached this

  • The site is built with semantic HTML5, so headings, lists and landmarks are structured in a way assistive technology can interpret correctly.
  • Navigation, including the mobile menu and the FAQ accordions, can be fully operated using a keyboard alone.
  • A skip link at the top of every page lets keyboard users jump straight past repeated navigation to the main content.
  • Interactive elements show a clear, visible focus outline, so it is always obvious where keyboard focus currently sits.
  • Colour and contrast across text and buttons are checked against WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds.
  • Form fields carry proper labels and clear error messages, including within the get-started questionnaire.
  • Pages remain usable when text is resized up to 200 per cent in the browser.
  • Layout adapts across mobile, tablet and desktop screens, and has been checked on each.

Where we may fall short

We review the site regularly and fix issues as we find them, but a self-assessed statement cannot guarantee every page meets every criterion at all times. If you come across something that does not work as it should, we would rather hear about it than have you struggle with it.

The site uses HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, and has been checked against common screen readers, including NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver, as part of our WCAG 2.1 AA self-assessment.
