Frequently asked questions
We work with a wide range of difficulties in adults, including anxiety, depression, panic, health anxiety, stress and burnout, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and PTSD and other trauma, as well as perinatal mental health. If you are not sure whether we can help, tell us in the get-started questionnaire and our clinical team will let you know.
Sessions happen over secure video at an agreed time each week, usually 50 minutes long. You will be sent a link ahead of each appointment, and the content of the session works much the same as an in-person appointment would.
Sessions are £130 for 50 minutes. There is no separate charge for the get-started process, and our full pricing detail, including how to pay, is on our pricing page.
No, we do not offer a free introductory session. The get-started questionnaire itself is free and does not commit you to anything, and it is how our clinical team works out whether we are a good fit before your first paid session.
No. You can refer yourself directly through our get-started questionnaire. A referral from your GP is not required to work with us privately.
We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less notice than that may still be charged at the full session rate, because that time is held for you alone.
It depends on your policy and provider, so the best approach is to ask us directly during the get-started process and we can talk through what your insurer is likely to need, such as pre-authorisation or a GP referral.
Yes, with the same professional exceptions that apply to any UK-regulated psychologist: a risk to your safety or someone else’s, or a legal requirement to disclose. Where those exceptions might apply, your psychologist will normally talk it through with you first. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
A private space where you will not be interrupted, and a stable internet connection. Most people join using a laptop, tablet or phone.
No, we work with adults only. If you are looking for support for a child or teenager, your GP or school can point you towards local NHS child and adolescent mental health services.
Our clinical team reviews your answers, matches you with a psychologist from the team, and gets back to you to arrange a first session. This usually takes a few working days.
By bank transfer or card, paid in advance of each session. Details are confirmed once you are matched with a psychologist.
For most of the difficulties we work with, the evidence for online delivery is comparable to in-person therapy, particularly for structured approaches such as CBT and EMDR.
Not currently. We work online by secure video, and we will update this site as the practice develops.
We are not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or thinking about acting on thoughts of harming yourself, please contact your GP, call 999, or speak to the Samaritans on 116 123, available free, 24 hours a day.
