Terms and conditions
Last updated: 8 September 2026
These terms apply when you use this website or engage the therapy services offered by Thriving Minds Collective Ltd (Company No. 16358249), trading as The Islington Psychologist (“we”, “us”, “our”). By browsing this site or booking a session, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or book a session.
About this website
This website provides general information about our practice and the services we offer. Nothing on it is a substitute for an individual assessment by one of our psychologists, and no page here should be treated as personal clinical advice. We keep the site updated as best we can but do not guarantee it will be available without interruption, and we may change or remove content without notice.
Who our services are for
Our therapy services are for adults aged 18 and over. We do not provide services to children or young people, and if you are enquiring on behalf of someone under 18, we will direct you to appropriate NHS or specialist services instead.
Not an emergency service
We provide planned, weekly online therapy. This is not designed for, and is not suitable for, crisis or emergency situations. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact your GP, call 999, or reach out to the Samaritans on 116 123.
How sessions work
Sessions last 50 minutes and are delivered by secure video by an HCPC-registered clinical psychologist. Our current fee is £130 per session, payable in advance by bank transfer or card. We do not offer a free introductory session. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask for at least 48 hours’ notice; sessions cancelled with less notice may still be charged in full, since that time has been reserved for you alone.
You are responsible for finding a private, quiet space and a reliable internet connection for your sessions, and for giving your psychologist accurate information about your circumstances so they can support you appropriately.
Professional standards
Every psychologist working with us is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and practises in line with HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics. You can check any psychologist’s registration on the HCPC register at hcpc-uk.org.
Ownership of content
The text, images and design on this website belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by copyright. You may view and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, republish or otherwise reuse our content without asking us first.
Our liability to you
The content of this website is provided for general information only and should not be relied on as a substitute for professional advice from your psychologist or GP. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this website, and our liability in connection with therapy services is limited to the fees you paid for the sessions concerned. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow us to, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Links to other sites
Where this site links to third-party websites, those links are provided for convenience only. We are not responsible for the content of external sites and linking to them is not an endorsement.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them or to your use of this website will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
Updates to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time, and any changes will be published on this page. Continuing to use the site or our services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
